Festival Souvenirs

When I was planning the festival I knew I wanted the artists to leave something behind for posterity. At Toonfest in Marceline, the artists sign the Disney Inspiration Barn and also the hotel walls in the Uptown Theatre Bed and Breakfast:

Mel Lazarus has a famous piano that a plethora of cartoonists have drawn on:

(We have a baby grand piano that is a horrible shade of lime green/yellow that we could have had folks draw on but then we would be forced to keep it forever. Not our current plan.)

And, at Cathy Guisewite's house in LA, the artists signed a miniature piano and a giant pot.

What to do, what to do.

Then it hit us. We have a number of bricks and pieces of fieldstone that would serve perfectly. We plan to eventually rig up some sort of plate hanger contraption so we can mount them on the wall. And the added bonus is that they are portable and can be displayed wherever we wish.

So here are the souvenir bricks and stones that our cartooning guests drew for us, enjoy!

The Full Radio Interview!

When we recorded the interview for the festival guests we had some technical issues, one of which was an extremely long pause getting the phone portion with Scott Stantis going. Another challenge was that the archived version from the radio station (that I posted here earlier) was on a timer and half of Scott's interview was cut off completely!

Greg Berg and Tom Racine to the rescue! Greg edited the show down for me and Tom Racine graciously offered to post it over on the Tall Tale Radio podcast.

So click here for the interview in its entirety - Thank you everyone!!!!

The Radio Interview

In the coming week I'll be posting full coverage of the Kenosha Festival of Cartooning. For now, here is a link to the radio interview done by the artists Thursday morning.  You have to fast forward past the long musical intro - it took a while to get everyone settled at a microphone. There is also some dead air before Scott's interview so fast forward through that as well.

Here is the poster for the overall festival - contact me at anne.edisonlee@gmail.com if you would like a pdf version to print out and distribute.
